    Limits hold at checkout

Free samples cost nothing, extras are charged, and orders over your limits are blocked by Shopify’s own checkout, so nobody can work around them.

Everything you need to offer samples

  • Free, paid, or both

Give the first few samples free and charge for extras, or charge for every sample. Run different offers for different collections.

  • Matches your theme

The sample button and tray pick up your theme’s buttons, fonts and colours. No theme code to edit.

  • Sample-only shipping

Offer a cheap letterbox rate when the cart holds nothing but samples. Cheaper rates and pickup always stay available.

  • Abuse protection

Cap samples per order and per customer. Repeat orders to the same email or address are flagged for review.

  • From sample to sale

Start follow-up emails through Shopify Flow, and give sampling customers a one-time code for their full-size order.

  • See what converts

Find out which samples lead to full-size orders, how quickly, and what those customers spend.

Sample orders, without the admin

Sample orders arrive in Shopify like any other order. SampleX lists them with how many were free, and flags any that break your limits so you can check them before you fulfil.

Questions

Do I need sample products already?

No. SampleX can create a sample version of each product for you, with the right image and price, or link the sample products you already sell.

How are free samples made free?

A SampleX discount takes free samples to zero at checkout, and a checkout rule blocks orders over your limits. Both run inside Shopify, so shoppers can’t get around them by editing the cart.

Will it work with my theme?

Yes, with any Online Store 2.0 theme. You switch SampleX on in your theme’s app embeds and add the sample button block. It matches your theme’s buttons automatically.

What is a sample order?

A normal Shopify order with samples in it. You fulfil it from Orders as usual. SampleX records it to apply your limits, track which samples become sales, and trigger follow-ups.

How is it billed?

Through Shopify, on your usual Shopify bill. Paid plans have a 14-day free trial, and you can change or cancel your plan at any time from the app.
